WALA: the Waitangi Wetlands. In our Inquiry groups we had to research an animal, plant or insect. We had to find out if the Waitangi Wetlands is a good place for it to live and grow.
We also had to create a way of showing our learning. Here is a video of how we presented our findings.
WALT: write narrative stories. In a narrative story we have been learning to add detail to our character, create a picture of the setting and the character in the reader's mind and give detail of what happens in the beginning, middle and end.
This Term we are learning all about being RESPONSIBLE. We have been talking about different ways we can be responsible at home and at school. In this activity are just some ways of how I show responsibility.
Triangle-WALA: Addition and subtraction with numbers to 1000 alongside learning about time and reading/drawing clocks.
Next Step: To use a range of strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems.
Hockey-
WALT: use the correct hockey techniques, some techniques that I have learnt or that I am learning include:
-Open dibble
-Closed dribble
-Watching where I move while controlling the ball

To continue practising the above skills until I am confident with controlling the ball in different ways.
Handwriting:
WALT: make my letters a nice size and shape.
Next Step: To make sure my handwriting is neat and I always write my letters a nice size and shape.
WALT: find and stretch words using our thumbs. We also look for blends, chunks of sounds rhyme and word endings to help us with unknown words.
Next Step: attempt unknown words and read on and think about what would make sense.
